How do you keep yourself in shape?
-
Exercise has always been a part of my life, so I’ve kept it up even as a minister. Good fitness helps me cope with the demanding work.
Every week, I schedule four gym sessions and 1-2 hour-long runs. During my dual ministerial term, I bought a treadmill for home, which I still use weekly. The pull-up challenge, which got a lot of attention on social media, was a fun thing. I had never done pull-ups before. I started with two and managed to increase the reps to ten in nine months.
I always listen to music with headphones at the gym and usually on my running route too. Music is wonderful!

What is your favorite music?
-
Yes, my own youth music still works when I'm on the move. I often listen to 1990s EDM, i.e., electronic dance music like E-Type, but I also enjoy newer hits from Pitbull to Ava Max.
For tough gym workouts, heavier music like Rammstein and AC/DC works well. Queen’s *Don’t Stop Me Now* plays every time I’m at the gym!
My playlist also has plenty of Finnish tracks: Portion Boys, Erika Vikman, JVG, Popeda, and Eput.

Do you shave anywhere other than in the shower?
-
I don’t sing in the shower, but I do in the car and alone at home😆
I have a decent ear for music and played the piano and flute for 10 years, but I’m still not a great singer.
At party events, I’ve occasionally gotten excited and sung at karaoke. I have two favorite songs: Popeda’s Lihaa ja perunaa and Tehosekoittimen Asfaltti polttaa.
