- Kalle Klotz is a musician at heart. Even when he was still flying around the world with blue and white wings, a guitar was often his roommate. Now that flying is behind him, his hobby has become his work—but what kind of work?
- Many artists dream of a glamorous career, though few achieve it. Kalle Klotz has chosen a different path—or did the path choose him? A man, a guitar, and a suitcase’s worth of tech—that’s Kalle’s basic setup. Since most of his gigs are in the early evening, the old man can go to bed at a reasonable hour, says Kalle. The travel doesn’t wear him out either, as the gigs are mostly within a 100-kilometer radius.
- Kalle doesn’t want to push his advice on anyone, but after some persuasion, he reveals that in July alone, his calendar has 18 gigs. None of them have been marketed—bookings just come in from regular clients, and every now and then someone who’s seen him perform reaches out. He just does the job as agreed, goes with the audience’s flow, and hits the right note every so often. That’s all there is to it. One gig leads to another, and sometimes even a little more, Kalle Klotz sums up.
- Kalle doesn’t have to go to gigs all alone, as his wife Susanna or daughter Mimosa often join him. The musical family’s shared hobby is theatre. At its best, in their opinion, it’s when music is involved, such as in the theatre hit "Mannapuuroa ja mansikkaa".
