Turku-based singer Niko Rantanen is looking to the future. There are many interesting things waiting for him there. A sauna building will be erected on the cottage lot early in the summer. Together with his long-time partner Tuija, their long-held dream is coming true. Their son Matias has volunteered to help his father, when they start lifting logs into place with the help of a barn raising.

Another of Niko’s dreams is also progressing nicely. The Kiuruvesi Schlager Championship is of great interest to the singer. The May eliminations in Kiuruvesi brought the desired result, and Niko Rantanen will be competing for the title of Schlager Champion in the finals in July.

Under the guidance of Katja Karisukki, Niko has been practicing both singing and interpretation. Understanding the lyrics is crucial, as only then can songs convey emotions to listeners. Topi Sorsakoski’s example particularly inspires Niko. That’s why it’s no surprise that his number one song right now is "Olet kaikki".
