1. How do you describe singing tangos?
"Tangos are also wonderful to sing, and being around them is an excellent opportunity to develop as a singer. During my studies at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, I became interested in jazz singing, and this is how tangos also feel very natural to sing, as I feel they have a similar intensity and a desire to convey, feel, and live the song's story truthfully. For example, the piece I sang on Saturday, *Tuhon tietä kuljen*, was familiar to me as a jazz standard, and Billie Holiday's interpretation has been particularly close to me."
2. How did you prepare for the tango competition?
"I practice the pieces I will perform thoroughly, because the better I know a piece, the more calmly I can approach it. The preparation process naturally includes mastering the melody, analyzing the lyrics in detail, and building my own interpretation through that. My toolkit includes various vocal and breathing exercises to start with, and if needed, I can turn to my knowledgeable colleagues for help if challenges arise."
3. How do you feel about the other competitors?
"It is very important to me during the tango journey that there remains a wonderful camaraderie among us competitors, and I am committed to maintaining an encouraging atmosphere. Each of us singers participating brings something unique, and the best part is getting to enjoy their interpretations."
